More science with Kirsten!

Not to be outdone by Mark, Mahalia's mum Kirsten came in to share some awesome science with us today. She brought dry ice, which is frozen carbon dioxide, and we had great fun seeing what happens when you add water, dishwashing liquid and food colouring to it. Nga mihi ki a Kirsten for giving Room 23 the chance to experience this - we had a blast!

  2. Good day room 23 I really like how you have put pictures of your experiment. This experiment looks so interesting I would like to do it in my own time at home.I really like how you gave us a description of what you needed in the experiment. I would have liked it if you had a video of the experiment to show us the outcome I really liked this experiment I look forward to trying it out.

  16. Hello Room 23

That looks likes so much fun learning about dry ice. I love doing experiments involving being able to move things, watching and just being involved. We do science almost every week and we do experiments too. They looked amazing with the different colours! What was the best part of doing this? How long did it take to create? It would be cool to see if you could make dry ice in different shapes. Great job Room 23

Sounds like a fun time doing science. I’m a year seven. The year 7&8 KIds go to science at our neighbouring high school John Paul II.

You all look like you guys were enjoying Science. Maybe next time you can write each kids thoughts about science.

I really enjoyed seeing some of the pictures you posted, I thought the smoky stuff that came out of the glasses looked really cool.

What was happening in the picture with the balloon and the white bubbles? It looked like the bubbles popped on your carpet!

What did you do to make the smoky stuff? Maybe next time you could tell us how it scientifically works.

  20. Kia ora Room 23,

I really enjoyed your science experiment.

What I thought was cool about your experiment was the foam rising it looks cool to do. It looks like fog rising from the grave yard out to the crisp morning or the dark night. How do you do that?

What I find interesting was how you got one of them to look like an egg which
that made me think about how it works.
