Room 23 Book Reviews
Each student has an aim to complete 20 book reviews this year. Some of us will almost certainly surpass this total, whilst others need to push themselves a little bit harder! Keep them coming Room 23.

Kawakawa for your kirimoko!
A focus for R23 this term is our Rongoa Maori (Maori medicine) garden. It is a great resource for our school, but a lot of people don't know about it and it isn't being used very much. We have been researching rongoa and plan to refresh and replant the garden this term. We also want to make it easy for our school community to know about it and make use of it.
As part of Science Week, we decided to try making Kawakawa cream, which is used to help keep your kirimoko (skin) healthy. We used Kawakawa and Tarata leaves from the Rongoa garden, bees wax from the school beehives (Thanks Mr Lyons!) and olive oil from Ms Best's kitchen. Check out our hard work - we think it turned out really well!
